What I’ll Take From My Wedding Day Into Yours

Three weeks ago, I wasn’t behind the camera, I was the bride!

After photographing weddings for three years, I thought I knew what a wedding day felt like. I knew the timelines, the emotions, the flow… but living it? Totally different. And it gave me a whole new perspective on weddings.

How Fast It All Moves

Everyone says the day flies by, they’re not kidding.

Moments I’d waited months for passed in seconds. The walk down the aisle, honestly, I barely remember Tyler standing there! The entire ceremony was a blur. The many hours we spent getting ready in the morning absolutely flew by, and before I knew it, we were dancing to our final song of the night (Country Girl by Luke Bryan of course).

Because of that, I’ll always remind my couples to slow down and soak it all in. We’ll build in buffer time, breathing room, and a few quiet moments to spend together throughout the day. Time to actually feel all the emotions, not just rush through them.

Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot, It’s a once-in-a-lifetime day, and the photos should fit inside it, not control it.

Noticing the Little Things

What surprised me most weren’t the big, dramatic moments. It was the way Tyler squeezed my hand during the ceremony. The tears streaming down my parents’ faces. The excitement of seeing him right before our first look. The way the late night mac and cheese brought everyone so much happiness!

Those are the moments that stick with you. And they’re the ones I’m always watching for at your wedding. Not just the posed portraits, but the in-between blink and you might miss it seconds that actually tell your story.

Feeling the Weight of Being in Front of the Camera

Even as a photographer, I felt nervous. Am I standing weird? Is my smile natural? Is my dress sitting right? It reminded me how vulnerable it is to be photographed on such an emotional day.

So now, more than ever, I’ll guide you gently. I’ll always fix your hair, I’ll tell you when you look amazing, because you’re going to look amazing! I’ll make sure you and your partner feel relaxed and comfortable at all times.

More than anything, I want you to have fun and not worry about how you look,  leave that to me.

What Really Matters

The flowers were beautiful, the decor was everything I hoped for, the cake? Stunning and delicious!

But what mattered most was us.

At the end of the day, your wedding isn’t about perfect details or a perfect timeline. It’s about the commitment you’re making and the memories you’ll carry forever.

And that’s how I’ll photograph your day, not chasing trends, not staging fake moments, but documenting the start of a lifetime together and everything that comes with it, exactly as it happens.

I’ll Carry This With Me

Being a bride opened my eyes. It made me more aware, more intentional, and more protective of my couples’ experience.

When I show up to your wedding now, I’m not just your photographer, I’m someone who knows what it feels like to stand where you’re standing, and it’s changed me in the best way possible.

Here’s to all the beautiful weddings ahead, I’m beyond excited to capture yours!
